Alba Hosts Walkathon in Celebration of Bahrain Sports Day
Alba marked Bahrain Sports Day with a walkathon held at its HRH Princess Sabeeka Oasis on Thursday 12 February 2026. The event was led by the CEO Ali Al Baqali and attended by members of the executive team as well as employees from various departments.
The CEO commended the support of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for dedicating a national day to sports. He also acknowledged the leadership of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, as well as HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The CEO emphasised the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and highlighted the positive impact that regular physical activity has on overall well-being. He noted that Bahrain Sports Day offers a valuable opportunity for the community to engage in activities that promote both physical and mental health.
Launched in 2017, Bahrain Sports Day aims to encourage widespread participation in sports and foster a culture of physical activity as part of daily life.
