Alba supports the second phase of ‘Forever Green’ Campaign
In line with the second phase of Bahrain’s national campaign for afforestation ‘Forever Green’ -- launched on 31 October 2022 under the patronage of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) Advisory Council -- Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)’s Executives and Directors, led by the CEO Ali Al Baqali, planted saplings along the main road near its Spent Pot Lining Treatment Plant on 01 November 2022.
Such initiatives come under Decarbonisation, one of Alba’s priorities as part of its ESG Roadmap, whilst also aiming to foster environment awareness and increasing Bahrain’s green cover.
In 2021, Alba planted trees along the main roads around the smelter, as well as several educational institutions and NGOs in Bahrain, and launched the ‘Tree for Every Employee’ campaign in support of the first phase of the ‘Forever Green’ Campaign.
