Alba CEO key panelist at the 37th Fastmarkets International Aluminium Conference 2023
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)’s CEO Ali Al Baqali was a panelist on the Opening Executive Panel: ‘State of the Aluminium Industry’ at the 37th Fastmarkets International Aluminium Conference 2023 that is being held from 12 to 14 September in Barcelona, Spain. The Opening Executive Panel, comprising top executives from the aluminium industry -- Hydro’s President and CEO Hilde Merete Aasheim and Hongqiao Group’s Special Advisor Ron Knapp -- explored several topics including the global supply/demand outlook and key business opportunities in the next 18 months as well as potential implications of geo-political shifts for the aluminium market.
Alba wins the Brandon Hall Group Silver Award for Excellence 2023
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters, is the recipient of the coveted Brandon Hall Group Silver Award for Excellence 2023 for its Training & Development Programme (TDP) under the Best Development Programme for Frontline Leaders’ Category. This is the fourth time that Alba has been recognised by the Brandon Hall Group with the previous awards being won in 2016, 2018 and in 2021.
Alba: the first smelter in the region to be recertified to the new ASI Performance Standard
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) is the first smelter in the region to be successfully recertified to the newest version (V3) of Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI)’s Performance Standard which was released in May 2022.
Alba CEO applauds interns upon completion of OJT programmes
In line with Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)’s commitment to Bahraini youth development, the CEO Ali Al Baqali congratulated more than 90 trainee students on the completion of their On-Job-Training (OJT) programmes, carried throughout this year, during a ceremony that was held on 23 August 2023 at the Company’s premises. Success is never achieved in solo, and recognition is the way to applaud the trainees’ achievements and inspire them to do more to reach their objectives.
Alba introduces new alloy 6060.HE in its product portfolio
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters, has introduced a new alloy ‘6060.HE’ as part of its AA6060 alloy family that is aimed at the Company’s extruder customers. Produced in a billet form with a wide range of applications in the construction sector, this new alloy has a faster extrusion rate that will improve the process efficiency and productivity for its users.
