Alba welcomes high-level delegation from ALEASTUR
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the world’s largest smelter ex-China, welcomed a high-level delegation from Spanish-based ALEASTUR on Sunday 16 January 2022. The ALEASTUR delegation comprising Leopoldo Galán - MD Aleastur Aluminium Business Unit & COO, Enrique Sela - Country Manager Aleastur Middle East WLL, Alberto Fernández - Interim Plant Manager Aleastur Middle East WLL and Meshari Saeed - Production Manager Aleastur Middle East WLL were welcomed by Alba’s Chief Executive Officer Ali Baqali, Chief Marketing Officer Khalid A. Latif, Chief Supply Officer Waleed Tamimi, and other senior officials from Alba.

Alba’s ESG Roadmap … on Track

Alba Celebrates Bahrain’s National Day
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) joined the celebrations of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s 50th National Day and the 22nd anniversary of HM the King’s accession to the throne on Wednesday 15 December 2021. Alba’s SPL Treatment Plant, first-of-its-kind in the region, commissioned by the Chairman of Board of Directors
The Chairman of Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba)’s Board of Directors Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa inaugurated Alba’s Spent Pot Lining (SPL) Treatment Plant on Thursday 09 December 2021 at its premises and announced the commissioning of the US$37.5 million zero-waste Plant -- the first-of-its-kind in the region.

In the 2020 edition of the Sustainability Report, Deloitte & Touche (M.E.) has provided independent limited assurance on Alba’s Sustainability Report’s compliance with the GRI Standards and on the preparation of 3 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Total Indirect Energy Consumption (GJ), Total Direct Energy Consumption (GJ) and Environmental Investment (BD).
Alba transitions to ESG with the appointment of Acting Manager for ESG
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba), the world’s leading aluminium smelter ex-China, announced the appointment of Sayed Salah Sayed Aqeel as the new Acting Manager for Environment, Social and Governance (ESG), effectively immediately. To drive Alba’s ESG transformation, Sayed Salah will report directly to the CEO and spearhead Alba’s soon-to-be-announced Sustainability Fully-Fledged Roadmap.
