Alba Launches its Summer Safety & Health Campaign ‘Stop, Think, & Act’

“Our commitment to Safety is not limited to a certain period of time. Safety is everyday and 24-hours seven days a week. Our campaigns play an important role in strengthening the Safety culture amongst our employees and contractors’ workers as well as reinforce our core Safety principles,” said the Chairman of Alba’s Board of Directors, Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, in his opening speech during the launch of Alba’s Summer Safety and Health Campaign ‘Stop, Think, & Act’ held on 17 July 2023 at Alba’s Oasis Hall.

As part of the opening ceremony, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Baqali delivered a keynote presentation where he highlighted Alba’s Safety Journey and ongoing measures -- acting responsibly, reporting unsafe acts and conditions -- to enhance safety during the challenging summer months.

Adding further, Al Baqali stated: “Accidents don’t just happen, they are caused. If we make it safe to speak up about unsafe conditions, we can achieve a lot safely. The summer season presents many challenges and by providing the medium for our people to be involved in our Safety culture proactively, we will be able to make an impact together as we stand-up for Safety.”

Guided by Alba’s Objective for 2023 ‘Safety is our Operating Licence, the Campaign will continue until 24 July 2023, and include various panel discussions and presentations to cover different aspects of Safety and Health. The event’s programme will feature Safety and Health experts from major companies in the Kingdom, including Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC), and Bahrain Steel as well as several major contracting companies that operate in Alba.

The Campaign also celebrated the achievement of 4 million hours without any Lost Time Injuries on 12 July 2023 thanks to the commitment of Alba employees and contractors’ workers.
