Alba: Beyond Philanthropy

Alba recognizes that true Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
extends beyond simply giving back. Our commitment is to actively
contribute to a healthier environment and an inclusive society.

Environmental Focus

Reduced Carbon Footprint: Initiatives like our zero-waste SPL Treatment Plant and the ongoing Power Station (PS) 5 Block 4 Project would reduce greenhouse gas emissions [PS5 Block 4 alone will reduce the Company’s overall GHG emissions by 0.5 times once fully commissioned in Q4 2024)
Renewable Energy: The Solar Farm Project will generate more than 6 MW of clean energy while solar-powered vehicles minimize our environmental impact.
Sustainable Practices: We minimize waste through our Food Waste Composter, producing valuable compost in the process.

Social Responsibility Highlights

Combating Climate Change: Alba established a Mangrove Nursery to cultivate vital mangrove trees, aligning with national goals.
Green Spaces: Committed to planting 6,000 trees annually, we’ve surpassed 12,000 since 2021.
Empowering Women: Alba actively promotes female leadership with 41% of female employees now holding supervisory or leadership roles. We recently welcomed our first female engineer.
Supporting Local Businesses: A collaborative session with relevant organizations helped Bahraini SMEs participate in our projects.

Investing in the Community

Alba Sports Festival: This inclusive event offered various sporting opportunities for over 750 athletes.
Community Partnerships: Alba provides essential services and equipment to institutions and supports local sports initiatives.
