The introduction of Alba’s Mangrove Nursery demonstrates our dedication to environmental conservation. Additionally, commissioning a Food Waste Composter and Solar-Electric powered industrial personnel carriers emphasize our commitment to reducing waste and minimizing our environmental footprint. A significant milestone in our ESG journey was the arrival of the Mitsubishi Power M701JAC Gas Turbine for the Power Station 5 Block 4 Project — this represents a major step towards achieving our ambitious decarbonization goals.

Upskilling over 660 employees through various learning and development programs is a testament to our belief in investing in our workforce.

Safety – Our Unwavering Commitment
Above all, Safety remains Alba’s top priority. We believe it’s not just a job requirement, but a way of life. Driven by this unwavering commitment, we’ve cultivated a strong Safety culture where everyone takes responsibility for their own well-being and that of their colleagues. This dedication is reflected in our team’s impressive achievement by closing 2023 with 12 million safe work hours without Lost Time Injury. This success extends to experiencing zero heat-related illnesses and injuries for seven consecutive summers and becoming the first GCC smelter to attain a 4-star audit rating by the British Safety Council.

It goes beyond traditional safety programs by emphasizing individual accountability. We believe that each and every one of us is responsible for our own safety and the safety of our colleagues. By fostering a ‘We Are All Responsible’ culture, we can create a work environment where everyone feels empowered to identify and address potential hazards.
Strategy Refresh: Charting a New Course for Alba’s Future — The business landscape is constantly evolving, and Alba is committed to staying ahead of the curve. This initiative involves a comprehensive re-evaluation of our long-term goals and vision.
e-Al Hassalah: Streamlining Operations with the Power of Technology — This program focuses on integrating cutting-edge technologies into our operations. By implementing e-Al Hassalah, we aim to streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies, and unlock further efficiencies. This will not only enhance our productivity but also free up valuable resources for innovation and growth.
Upskilling and Reskilling: Investing in Your Growth, Unleashing Your Potential: At Alba, we believe our greatest asset is our workforce. This initiative translates our commitment to investing in employee development.
In addition, we are looking to complete Power Station 5 Block 4 Project by Q4 2024 and Solar Farm by Q2 2024, both of which will scale up efficiency in our operations. We will also maintain active pursuit for sourcing upstream to secure some of our alumina needs and leverage certifications such as Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) and Ecovadis to unlock new markets and boost Value Added Sales.
