Launch of EternAl-AC™:
Alba launched EternAl‑Allocated Carbon (EternAl-AC™),
offering primary aluminium with a verified carbon
reduction allocation methodology. The system features five
tiers - AC0 to AC4 - representing 0 to 4t CO₂e per tonne
of aluminium, giving customers flexibility to meet their
decarbonisation goals while ensuring traceability and
credibility. By assigning GHG offsets from recognised
emission‑saving initiatives to specific sales orders,
customers receive products with a transparent, reduced
carbon footprint.

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP):
Alba continued to enhance transparency and accountability
in climate reporting. Alba achieved a ‘B’ rating in both
Climate Change and Water Security, reflecting improved
disclosure practices and measurable progress across its
ESG initiatives. This advancement positions the Company
closer to CDP’s leadership (‘A’) category.
Greenhouse Gas Verification (2024):
Alba’s GHG data collection and reporting followed
the GHG Protocol, IPCC AR5 metrics, and 2006 IPCC
Guidelines, with independent verification by DNV
under ISO 14064-3:2019 (limited assurance)

GHG Emissions Visibility and Data-Driven
Management:
Alba enhanced its GHG Emissions Dashboard, providing a
structured view of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions across
power generation, fuel use, anode production and smelting
activities. This granular visibility supports stronger
operational control, informed decision-making and
identification of emission-reduction opportunities.

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs):
Alba published third-party verified Environmental Product
Declarations for Slab, Billet and Ingot on the
International EPD System platform. These disclosures
provide customers with credible lifecycle environmental
data, supporting responsible sourcing, lifecycle
assessments and Scope 3 reporting, and aligning Alba with
global best practices.

Waste and Water Stewardship:
Alba strengthened waste traceability, reporting accuracy
and resource-use governance.

An automation project integrated Waste Disposal
Request (WDR) licence numbers and quantities into the
Waste Gate Pass system, improving monitoring and
compliance.

The Water Management and Stewardship Standard was
reviewed and updated, providing clear guidance across
smelter, calciner, marine and construction operations.

The enhanced Waste Management Dashboard delivers a
consolidated view of hazardous, non-hazardous and
recyclable waste streams, diversion rates, scrap
recycling volumes and waste intensity per tonne of
aluminium produced.

Green Fleet Pilot:
As part of its decarbonisation efforts, Alba introduced
its first electric Aluminium Fluoride (AlF₃) feeding
vehicles in Reduction Lines 4, 5 and 6. Performance data
from the pilot will inform potential fleet-wide adoption,
reinforcing Alba’s commitment to innovation and
lower-emission operations.

First-ever plant-wide environmental campaign,
including leadership engagement, awareness sessions
and a tree-planting initiative.

Plant-wide ESG awareness campaign, delivered in
collaboration with the Social Management team,
covering the ESG Roadmap, low-carbon products and
social performance.

A broad set of ESG-related training and certifications
supported capability building, including NEBOSH,
Preventing Plastic Pollution and Environmental
Sustainability programmes, Basic Radiation Protection
Officer, as well as system certifications such as ISO
14001, ISO 45001, Aluminium Stewardship Initiative
Performance Standard and Chain of Custody, and a
five-star certification from relevant bodies. Alba
also maintained strong external recognition, including
an EcoVadis Platinum rating.

Academic and Strategic Collaboration:
Alba partnered with leading national universities to
promote ESG awareness and knowledge sharing. A strategic
collaboration with Derasat is underway to develop a Future
Energy Mix Study, applying AI-enabled modelling and
multi-criteria decision frameworks to inform long-term
energy and decarbonisation strategy.

Industry Participation:
Alba participated in key regional and global forums,
including the World Renewable Energy Congress 2025,
Sustainability Forum Middle East (3rd Edition), Global
Water, Energy and Climate Change Congress, the ‘Future of
Energy & Funding Mechanisms’ Decarbonisation Roundtable
series and the BAPCO Mangrove Seminar 2025, reinforcing
its role as a regional ESG champion.

2026 Outlook
Alba has developed a comprehensive Decarbonisation Roadmap
aligned with Bahrain’s national climate targets and the
Aluminium Stewardship Initiative decarbonisation pathway,
with the goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2060 and
an interim target of a 30% emissions reduction by 2035
versus baseline. The roadmap sets clear reduction
trajectories across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, outlines
six ESG priority areas and evaluates multiple
technological and operational pathways to reduce the
Company’s carbon footprint while increasing scrap
utilisation. The decarbonisation strategy is anchored on
two primary pillars:

Circular Economy & Secondary Aluminium:
Maximising scrap reutilisation by securing recycled
materials, developing recycling infrastructure and
pursuing partnerships with international recyclers.

Green Energy & Aluminium:
Expanding on-site solar generation, collaborating with
the Government of Bahrain on national renewable
initiatives and entering long-term renewable energy
power purchase agreements.
To strengthen data quality and reporting, Alba will implement a
centralised ESG data platform as a single source of truth for
ESG metrics across operations, enhancing accuracy, streamlining
reporting and supporting alignment with global standards.
Complementing this, the Company is developing an ESG AI
Assistant to improve the accuracy and efficiency of ESG data
management and communication, providing real-time access to
sustainability information, standardised responses to customer
questionnaires, and analytical insights on emissions accounting,
circularity metrics and framework alignment.

Plans are also underway to incorporate Scope 3 emissions
into Alba’s GHG accounting and verification processes,
extending coverage beyond direct operations to include
supply chain and product-use emissions and providing a
more complete picture of the Company’s climate impact.

In 2026, Alba plans to expand its low-carbon aluminium
portfolio with the launch of EternAl™ Renewable
(EternAl™-Solar), a new sub-brand within the EternAl™
family that integrates renewable electricity into the
smelting process to further reduce carbon intensity. The
product will leverage both long-term renewable PPAs and
on-site solar capacity, offering customers verified and
transparent carbon-performance metrics consistent with
international expectations for low-carbon aluminium.
