Safety and health are fundamental to Alba’s operations, enhancing productivity, talent retention, and reputation. We prioritize a robust safety culture upheld by the Alba SHE Policy, Safety Code of Practice, and comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Management System covering all employees and contractors. In 2023, we delivered 32,572 training hours and conducted weekly safety talks to instill a proactive safety mindset. Executive leadership sets a strong example through regular site visits and direct engagement with employees to reinforce safety protocols. Hazard identification and risk assessments are routine, ensuring continual improvement and compliance with national and international standards. Our commitment to safety is unwavering, fostering a secure and supportive workplace where our employees can thrive.

Our adherence to the Alba Code of Conduct aligns with international standards such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and Bahrain’s Labour Law. We enforce these principles through robust policies, procedures, and training initiatives covering recruitment, social management, security, and grievance processes for all employees, contractors, and subcontractors. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy against child and forced labor, promote equal employment opportunities, non-discriminatory practices, and uphold the right to freedom of association. Our commitment is underscored by regular social audits and human rights assessments, ensuring compliance with laws and industry standards. In 2023, there were no reported human rights violations, reinforcing our dedication to ethical business practices and employee well-being.

Alba is committed to creating sustainable value for society through solid financial performance, job creation, skills development, and community investment in Bahrain. Our economic impact includes a significant contribution to Bahrain's GDP, with a consistent 12% share and BHD 185 million invested in local suppliers in 2023. Despite a 16.1% decrease in revenue to BHD 1.5 billion, our production increased by 1.28% to 1.62 million metric tons. We prioritize equal opportunities for national small and medium-sized enterprises through competitive bidding processes, aligned with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects adhere to ESG principles, supporting cultural and educational initiatives. Stakeholder engagement involves multi-year agreements with community partners to monitor CSR project outcomes. Our stringent SHE processes ensure a clean and safe environment, fulfilling ISO obligations with rigorous monitoring of air, water, and waste management.
