Aluminium Bahrain (Alba)'s commitment to operational efficiency is bearing results as the company succeeded in surpassing the monthly production targets set for 2010 in the month of December 2009 for one of its best value products.

Alba achieved a production record of 9,632 metric tonnes for its high value foundry alloy ingots in December, which far exceeded the monthly production plan for 2010.
Alba's Casthouse Operations Manager, Abdul Rasool Ahmed commented on this achievement:
"This record was accomplished while maintaining Alba's stringent quality standards and performance requirements. It was made possible by streamlining the production processes and focusing on operational efficiency to increase productivity levels.
"Since foundry alloy ingot is one of Alba's high value products, this increase translates into higher profitability, and places the company on track to remain one of the most competitive smelters in the industry."
