Health care shines at SHE Week

The Alba Health Care Centre (AHCC) played a major role in ensuring the success of SHE Week with the active participation of both its medical personnel and administrative staff. The AHCC stand at the SHE Week tent, for example, hosted live first aid demonstrations for employees and conducted hundreds of free medical tests including blood sugar and pressure tests as well as calculating the Body Mass Index (BMI) of tent visitors.

"Blood pressure tests were conducted for approximately 2500 tent visitors, blood sugar test were conducted for 1,500 visitors and BMI measurements and calculations were conducted for 90 % of all tent visitors," said Alba Chief Nursing Officer, Ebrahim Sabt Al Yassi. "In co-ordination with Bahrain and Delmon opticians, we also conducted 865 eye refraction tests and 209 Audiometry tests for Alba employees, contractor and other visitors to the SHE Week Tent. A total of 156 First Aiders were also awarded with their certificates and presented with a First Aid kit," he said. "During SHE Week, we also conducted various health awareness campaigns," said Al Yassi. "These included campaigns about the Prevention of Eye Injuries, the Prevention of Heat Related Problems and the Importance of a Healthy Diet. We also distributed many medical leaflets," he said.
